Did someone say Valentine Activities? Count me in!
I will admit, I am the above and beyond kind of mom who likes to hold myself to impossible standards. It’s nothing new to me to stress my own self out over making sure my kiddos have the best, most fun childhood possible. That means for every holiday I like to do crafts, or activities that are festive, and creative!
It might be extra work, and not necessary, BUT it does make life more fun from the regular day to day! In the spirit of Valentine’s day, I have put together a couple of fun, and relatively easy activities you can do with your kiddos. Especially if you have feral wild ranch kids like I do!
Valentine Cloud Dough
Cloud dough is really fun for kids to experiment with! I love it because it’s slightly less messy than play dough, and you know what’s in it!
How to make Cloud Dough:
- 2 parts cornstarch
- 1 part baby lotion
- (optional) food coloring & sprinkles
Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix thoroughly. Once it has all come together in a dough, take it out and knead it until it’s completely smooth. If the mixture is a little wet or dry, just adjust the amount of cornstarch or baby lotion.
Sensory Bin
This was not my best attempt at a sensory bin, especially since I am trying to make them toddler AND baby friendly. But it did the job. Right now Fallon is obsessed with water. Girlie keeps getting into the dog water bowl any chance she can so I thought I would lean into that. I just took 2 small, plastic tubs, filled them with an inch or 2 of water then added some things for texture. I made everything edible since the baby will absolutely put anything in her mouth. I used oats, and valentine sprinkles! That’s it! Then I just put the kiddos and their bins on a washable blanket, gave them some scoops and bowls to pour into and they were off! This kept them both entertained for a while!

Final Thoughts
Just remember that there is no real pressure to do ALL the things as a mom. Pinterest and Instagram can be the worst culprits of creating mom guilt and make you feel like you aren’t doing enough. Please understand that your kids do not need to do a Valentine craft to feel loved by you!
I hope these activities can be a fun thing for you to do together, but the most important thing above all else is just spending time together. No matter what that looks like!
